So, what’s this site about?

Good question! Here’s the short answer: I have lived almost my entire life with chronic and acute illnesses. I have also had a GREAT life. Cycling has helped me heal and helped me adapt to a seemingly ever-changing normal. In these videos and photographs I share some experiences usually during ~~bike~~ trike rides.

"Excuse me, what's that you're riding?"

I ride a recumbent trike. The benefits of a recumbent trike and what sets them apart from traditional bikes are comfort, stability and view since you’re seated in a somewhat reclined position with your head and torso upright so you are always looking slightly up and out. Because of their stability, recumbent trikes are great alternatives for people with balance issues or anyone who simply doesn’t want to be worried about the possibility of a fall. And the comfort factor compared to a traditional bike is obvious. When asked how it feels I always say, “It’s like riding a La-Z-Boy.”

The trike I ride is an ICE (Inspired Cycle Engineering) Sprint 26. The front wheels are 20” and the rear wheel is 26”.
